Small brown skin spots develop from being in the sun without protection. In addition, you may see premature aging on your face, hands, and decollate. Sunspots come from sun exposure with no protection. IPL is the perfect remedy for improving your skin tone and restoring a youthful complexion.
Venus Concept’s IPL treatment is a non-surgical way to target pigment under the skin’s surface. The device reduces the appearance of discoloration and premature aging. You will feel minimal discomfort and redness for about 24 hours afterward. An IPL Photofacial will give you clearer, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin.
In addition, photo rejuvenation treatments work for vascular marks, spider veins, and capillaries. You can see a reduction in freckles, sunspots, and rosacea. You will only need a few treatments, which last about 15 to 20 minutes.
Photofacial treatments are done through Intense Pulsed Light or IPL technology to fade these signs of premature aging safely and effectively. IPL technology sends light through your layers of skin to target skin imperfections and correct them without damaging surrounding tissues.

We recommend 4-5 treatments per area. How many treatments you will need depends on each individual and the areas to be treated.
Depending on the area being treated, sessions last about 15-20 minutes.
Venus Versa has a cooling feature built into it. The cooling feature makes the treatment comfortable. However, if you are treating a sensitive area, you may feel more discomfort. Your provider can give you some help to make you more comfortable.
It all depends on how your skin reacts to the IPL session and how you take care of your skin will depend on how long the treatment lasts. You may need one touch-up treatment every 3-6 months.
For safety reasons, you may not be able to get this treatment if you have/are:
• Metal or other implants in the treatment area
• Current or history of cancer
• Pregnant or nursing
• Any diseases that can be stimulated by light (e.g. epilepsy)
• History of disease that can be stimulated by heat (e.g. herpes)
• Poorly controlled endocrine disorders (e.g. diabetes or polycystic ovary syndrome)
• Any active condition in the treatment area (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, rash)
• History of skin disorders, keloids, unusual wound healing, or excessively dry and/or sensitive skin
• Any surgical procedures within the past 3 months
• A tattoo or permanent makeup in the treatment area
• Excessively tanned skin
Treatments are done 3 weeks apart.
To prepare for the treatment, make sure your skin is clean. Do not apply any lotions, creams or makeup before your session, and stop using any products that might irritate your skin 2-3 days before. You must also avoid any tanning, including with self-tanners. You may be advised to shave the area before your treatment. Remove all jewelry around the area being treated.
The applicator has a cooling feature built into it to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, but you might feel a bit of discomfort if you’re treating a more sensitive area, like the upper lip. If you find it too uncomfortable, let the operator know and they can adjust the treatment accordingly.
After your treatment, your skin may feel warm, like a sunburn, and can remain red for anywhere from a few hours to a day. Be sure to follow instructions for before and after your treatment.
Avoid tanning for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment, and wear sunscreen. You should also avoid hot baths, massages, or any treatment that requires direct contact with the skin for the first 2 days after your treatment.
Following an IPL treatment, you can apply makeup immediately after but make sure you put on sunscreen first. There is no downtime. You can return to your daily schedule immediately after your treatment.
We recommend one touch-up session every 3-6 months, depending on your skin responds to the treatment.
